In 1993, Gottfried Honegger designed Le Viseur, a teaching tool for "learning to watch".
Composed of simple and colorful geometric shapes, the game gives children an approach to concrete art. A portable version was published in 2004.
While being entertained, the child can at any age walk in the garden of geometry. He can, at his own will and at his own pace, travel from the real to the imaginary through the composition of color, form, rhythm, balance or randomness by inventing a rule of the game. The reduced quantity of shapes and colors makes it possible to read simple and universal pictorial expressions.
This educational tool is frequently used in the context of the various projects designed by the pedagogical workshops of the eac.
Since its inception in 1990, the primary mission of the eac. is to make contemporary art accessible to the largest possible public. Art education has always been at the heart of the mission, and an entire building,is devoted to studios designed to welcome school groups, beginning with preschoolers.
