The Espace de l’Art Concret has a collection of works of art — rich and unique in France — that belong to aresolutely non-figurative trend.
This collection of almost 700 works, which brings together 180 artists of multiple nationalities, has been formedby multiple touches, by programmatic, aesthetic and emotional affinity. Sybil Albers and Gottfried Honegger have made choices throughout their lives to grow the collection they donated and which now belongs to the state.
The concept of the exhibition Filiations 2 extends this focus on “living” creation by inviting a selection of artists of the new generation to choose from the Albers-Honegger Collection works with which they feel "in resonance".

These choices are enriched by their own work so that a dialogue can take place beyond the barrier of time and space. The artists invited to participate in this project share specific links with the history of abstraction and its ramifications. They are part of a more or less natural filiation, which, like all family histories, is built on a more or less tenuous relationship, more or less direct and affirmed, but always in a constant and essential search for autonomy.
Beyond the existing formal and conceptual links, it is also a question of trying to understand how the figure of another artist, the presence of his work, can have an impact on the artist’s career...
