Artists (subject to change – list in progress) : Wifredo Arcay, Jean Arp, Geneviève Claisse, françois Curlet, Olivier Filippi, Mathieu Mercier, Jesús Raphael Soto, Sophie Taeuber-Arp, Victor Vasarely…
L’atelier Arcay (the Arcay studio) was created in1951 by Wifredo Arcay, an early painter who brought to the forefront an ancient technique : silkscreen printing, a derivative of the Japanese stencil.
His knowledge and friendships in the artistic world allowed him to work with the great artists of his generation : Jean Arp, Sophie T. Arp, Robert et Sonia Delaunay, Auguste Herbin, Jesús Raphael Soto, Victor Vasarely…
Since 1993, Jérôme Arcay, his son, has been continuing the work of W. Arcay. He has been able to maintain the relationships established by his father with more contemporary artists such as Erro, César, Jacques Monory, Peter Klasen while opening up to artists of his generation such as Robert Combas, François Boisrond, Sylvie Fanchon, or more recently with Olivier Filippi and Camila Oliveira Fairclough.
The exhibition presented at the eac. will be the occasion of showing a selection of this collection of printed works from its inception to the present day.
